Hiya! Merry xmas to all! Anyone know if the m20 engine (from an auto e30) will fit to my gearbox in my M10 engined E30? I have just completed a swap from my useless Pierburg to a Bogg Bros GSX1100 mikuni setup, but am not where I want to be power wise. regards, rob

Hi fellows! Merry Xmast too.
You have to change the bell housing (the front transmission housing), because the 6 cylinder (M20) and the 4 cylinder (M10 & M40) use different bell housing. The rest is similar

you're going to be better off just getting the engine, box, prop, exhaust and loom etc from a 325i and swapping the lot over. the m10 and m20 have different bellhousing patterns and the M20 doesn't have a detachable bellhousing on the box.

a lot easier to just swap the whole lot over.

or drop a M30 in instead winkeye :D i've heard that the M10 and M30 bellhousings patterns will mate up! :D

Cheers for that guys, looks like I might have to fiddle about a while longer with the bike carbs then, or till a suitable donor comes up anyway! 15mpg at the moment! Ta! regards, rob
