535d = 400lbft plus
E39 M5 = 369lbft
E36 M3 = 258lbft
Anything with 200lbft plus is decent so long as its under 1500kgs.

200lb/ft from an N/A 4cyl
Not all bad
I'm assuming the 535 is after a remap cause they push out some serious torque after a remap

Erel, an e36 m3 won't have nearly as flat a torque curve as yours does, despite having a higher peak. 237lb/ft spread out like that is pretty good

May Fabia vRS has 229 lbft (Manufacturer figures).
But Autoexpress tested their long-termer at 237 lbft before they chipped it....

My last car, Skyline R32GTR, had 500bhp / 400lbft of torque on a single HKS T04R turbo, and was a complete beast to drive. Had no power below about 5000rpm and then ALL of it came in at once
It was complete rubbish to try and get down country lanes fast but omg was it good for scaring passengers

Yeah 535d figure is stock. 272bhp as well, yipes. They're fast but the Chief (my old man) prefered the 530d as you can get a propergearbox with it
Toby is spot on regarding the M3s torque figure. Trust me, they are pretty torquey for such high revvers (esp the 3.0) but good turbo install is like extra capacity - you get more over a broader range
My 330Ci pulled like a train, despite uber-long gearing (120mph was 4krpm in 6th). It had 221lbft and weighed in at over 1500kgs.
237lbft in a circa 1200kg E30 would make it a weapon - good work

My Nissan had 325ftlbs, pretty good for grin factor for passengers, that started to kick just before 3k so was there for a while too!
How come you wanna know mate? From what I've read your car is a beast, if you were to drag against any of the above mentioned you won't be as far behind as they would think an old BMW would be

2000ft/lbs, enough to drag a few e30s up a hill even with their brakes on
(or tow a landrover out of a muddy lake bottom and leave the wheels and axles behind!!)
Don't worry blingsta, you'll beat it to 60
