The front half of the 535i propshaft will need to be shortened and balanced.

Depending on what engine position you choose you might need a different radiator.
And probably an electric fan, the viscous probably won't fit.

I'll post again if I think of anything else!

Oh, and welcome! :D

And good luck!

Using engine position 3 I used the E34 535 rad, but most people seem to use the E28 one, I think it is a little slimmer.

You need to use the 535 throttle cable too, so remember to take it off the car before you get rid of it!

New engine mounts are a good idea at this stage too!

prop: hybrid 535i/E30 one or a standard E30 M3 one
exhaust: hybrid 325i/m30 one or a E30 M3 one. the M30 exhaust is larger than the 325i one but the M3 is the right bore.
engine mounts: home made custom ones or buy them from several places (i got mine from e30.de)
radiator: easiest is the E28 535i one (with E28 bottom hose) but if the engine is far enough back you'll get away with a E34 535i one
the rest should be adaptable from the E34 if you have a full donor to hand. keep the E34 engine loom/ecu etc and use that complete.

it's a bit more than an easy few days but if you have the cars there and most of the parts, the heavy work will take a couple of days, after that it's mainly plumbing and exhaust work etc.

a week off with good weather should get it running (assume no waiting for parts)

all good fun though! good luck! :D

yup! as simple as that. it's the right amount shorter and has the larger coupling already! a M3 prop will cost a bit more than a hybrid (balanced) one but it'll fit on P2 or P3. a lot of use on here including me are using P2.5 with a E28 rad as no bulkhead bashing is needed at all, it's a bit tight up front though but it does go in.
