Supercharging newbie

hi any one know if it possible to supercharge an 87 reg 318i i want to go for the dragster look with the butterfly valves coming out of the hood if possible i work at an engineering works so making parts should not be a problem

anything is possible mate. turbos seem to be the current fav. hmm a supercharged 318!! i would like to see that 
not 100% sure if you can get the dragster look from the m40 but i am sure someone will come along soon to give a few pointers.

Sure you could knock an FI cowl and then mount the charger further down and plumb the two together.
However, having giant butterflies sticking out through the bonnet ain't really gonna achieve anything other than for show as the engine won't be able to make use of the flow area they represent.

youve got to admit it would look cool my primary goal is to have a street drift car that looks different, cause of my work work last year in the cutom car/drag and drift scene i want a nice looking drift car that looks like a dragster

Shouldnt be too hard to make a manifold adaptor and you could have the whole charger sat on top of the hood

just had a look at the power/torque graph on the web site and it looks amazing gunna go ahead and do it i think
