Im back and happy again.. cars been up and running with new engine now for couple of days, but i thought, hey lets not get too excited, Anyway, after a night out with Ant last night mapping, car seems excellento and once again put a smile on my face!! still running 7psi but just need bigger injectors to complete the set up.. im gonna wait a few months before i spend any more money on her though, these past 2months have bled my dry and i cant afford anything else, need to make sure everthing is sweet for a while before any more goes in.. so thats my story so far peeps, all these problems caused by my old blocks head bolt thread being stripped ????

Excellent news indeed.

Stripped block thread wouldn't have helped anything at all

Ant, consumption isnt bad mate, but you know me, on boost all times, so it does drink a bit !!!! but hey, sod it, it turns heads, and i am a bit of a show off. :D .. Anyway, after all the engine troubles ive had, all the paint on rocker cover and inlet manifold has been scratched and scuffed, so i will be treating them to a nice coat of paint soon... Oh and Matt, once Ant finishes your car mate, im sure you'll be well happy

They are a iron thread insert rather than just a coil, you have to drill out and tap the hole then thread the timesert in with some threadlock, the tool that you thread them in with actually flares the lower end too to lock it in place.

Make sure you get the long ones to spread the load, when i built engines for a living we used these on a couple of M52 alloy blocks and never had a problem.

i havent got all the gear to do it and the block top would probably need skimming afterwards, Iain will be able to do that.
