Ԛ£200 to spend.....
1, Fit NGK ( only !! ) Spark plugs for a chromie car( up to 86 in catalogue)
2, Service car fully, oil, fuel and air filters, retain std airbox(for now)
3, Zone chip( I got your PM today BTW dude )
4, Zone BBTB.
OK, with the service items its over the target Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£ but its close enough, and a worthwhile investment dude

Temp range is about all Dave, but NGK normal V grooved have done 10K on the turbo without any issues at all
NGK NGK NGK, no Bosch or chumpion wrongness, and save your Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£ on the iridium/whatever specials, leave those to the ricer market.

Bit of an unanswerable question really, possible power depends on how much skill and money's thrown at them.
Gather that 400bhp's easily achievable with the right turbo and management, think you'd struggle to top 200bhp running N/A to be honest though.

pretty much what I thought turbo wise, a little surprised on the N/A front though, thought it would be nearer 230 tops, but would have thought 200 was pretty easily attanable with a decent rebuild and some tasty mods.
I know its a pretty hit or miss question just wondering based on what others have acheived.
Surprised the turbo could give a 100%+ increase though even on insane boost.

You could build a 2.5 to 2.7 then possbly 230. Player6 is 2.8 and is pushing 260hp with alot of money planted init.
I think M20s take well to F/I

200bhp from an N/A M20 is still 80bhp/litre which would be pretty respectable for a 2v engine!
The later M20s are low compression and can easily handle more than 1bar of boost, you should see a 100% power hike at a little less than 1bar. I got a 58% hike from just under 1/2 a bar

How about taking some weight out?
That way you get better acceleration, better brakes, better cornering and better fuel consumption!
Get rid of all unecessary gizmos and toys, soundproofing, junk you carry around, mudflaps, rear headrests etc. - whatever else you can do without.
Best of all - it doesn't cost a penny!

youll be needing either a btb 6 branch or good cam
also big bore tb and a decent airfilter itg etc
this and good servicing should get you near 200
best bet is build a 27 tho
im about to do one for my car
should easily get over 200 with shedloads of torques

exhaust AND cam,200 isnt a dead cert .....youd be lucky to start off with 160-170 ,never mind the quoted new figure of 171.i bet if most of the stock b25s went onto rr -quite a lot of people would be dissappointed.
save up for a torque multiplier...lol,
