I bought my engine ages and ages ago and it has sat, waiting for me to install it for about 9 months. Till now I had been paying fot it/bills/moving etc. I've just started getting the bits together to install it (an S50B32 into a 325i) but have no driveway now.

Recently my workmate and lift-buddy bought an S54B32 for his E36 325i and set about installing it. In his parents garage it's already sat in the engine bay!!! Bastard! All he needs now is an E46 loom and a bit of electronic wizardry, an exhaust and a kick in the dick.

I quite fancy taking a week off and attacking my car out on the street, rain or shine, just so I can have my new engine too.

Sound like a good idea? (well obviously not but is it feasible?)

Yea boy......

That was gonna be my next question... Who fancies a 300bhp party???

I can supply as many beers as anyone can drink, my girlfriend can wander around with snacks/BBQ and my neighbours can supply a healthy dose of 'thats not going to be there long is it??'. (the 21 yo next door is pretty cute n all).

Is this a plan brewing??

LOL!

She'd do.. Not a stunner. Fact is she's 21, its pretty hard to be rotten at 21 unless you're genetic pond scum. Great little 21 yo body but with a tiny hint of a tiny little belly (which I quite like).

I wouldn't say she was hot enough to warrant helping me lift an M20 with auto box out, let alone lifting an S50B32 in so you'll have to base the descision on the beer and great company!

On second thoughts I'd better try and convince the missus to dish out complimentary hand jobs then... It's bad enough eating your sandwiches with oily hands!

On the road outside the house here in Coventry. Not at all ideal but once the lump is in, it's just problem solving around it..

Move brake servo etc.

If I can just get the engine, prop and diff in it'll drive again until I fit the suspension. I'll get it trailored to an exhaust place for the manifolds and cop out on that front.

Need to get the steering coupling made, the oil pump and pick up and arp rod bolts and I can get it in.

Was thinking about getting all the wiring and radiator/vacuum piping done then shipping it to an exhaust place. I'd ideally like to tackle the exhaust myself and not 'cheat' but I dont have the workshop or tools.

Would feel like a right lazy git though! How much will the manifold mods and an exhaust cost? I was thinking about using the middle section of the ZRoadster with the cats removed, an aftermarket E36M3Evo backbox (smaller) and having the pipes modified/replaced to fit.

One bit of good news: A friend who works for a pretty sound bloke offered to come up, pick up my car bits and take them to his workshop in bournemouth. I'd take a week off and go do all the bits we can. A week in a garage workshop and it'd be in, possibly have the exhaust done and ready for the manifold mods. I'll have to get the spacer for the steering machined in preparation, and all the bits I'll need for the swap.

An otherwise standard 325i with 300 brake!!

Hmm.... Watch this space you lovely helpful little zoners!
