i have just changed my engine for one with less miles, it was a basic swap for the same engine. removed ther old engine, fitted the new engine no problem :) ... but it will not start :(

the engine is turning over but not even trying to start

all 4 plugs are firing but it doesnt seem to be getting any fuel, i swapped the throttle bodies over from my old engine as i know they work but still getting nothing.

any ideas would be much appreciated :D

thanks

if your engine was running fine before then that rules out fuel pump/filter i would pressume

if your sure its not getting fuel, then it could be the regulator or rail/ injectors on the new engine. fitting the old ones is a half hour job so try that first

to be sure ifs got fuel at the regulator (i would do this first) disconnect the hose leading to the rail, the one after the pump, and get someone to crank the engine over twice only to see if there is fuel coming out. point it away from the car/yourself though!

I would pull the fuel pump relay and link pins 30 and 87 of its socket and then try to start the car. If it still doesn't start then pull a fuel hose off and check that the pump is running.
PS. Before you do any of that, check the fuel hose are the right way around.
