too small for the engines capacity dude
may make some boost but will not move enough air to fill the cylinders @ higher rpm.
the std unit is binned on the Works conversion for the same reason so one can only assume its just enough in stock form for the 1.6
Lentec and Dips have both completed s/charger conversions, maybe a PM in their directions would help with unit choice ?
S/charger is a great idea, if a little more complex to implement correctly than a turbo.

As ant said you wont get enough air throu such a small charger.
Alltho one of them small chargers would spin up a turbo fairly well
Antilag device!!!

just out of interest ant, why are SCs more difficult to implement? i've never really played with one, but just thought you basically strapped it on and hooked it up to intake and to crank belt with a sensible size pulley to get the right boost?! dont normally have ICs either do they? is it the inlet side of things?
must admit i've never really liked the idea of an SC.

Think the biggest problems are making strong enough mounts for the charger and having a beefy enough belt tensioning system to drive the charger.
Seem to recall that one of those M45 chargers draws upto about 14hp odd which is quite a lot, and of course all the bracketry needs to be able to tolerate that.
As with a turbo setup, you can get away without an IC, but it's much better to use one.
