Hi, Im very new to the E30 crew, probably been threads about this a;ready, but i just wanted to know what other things will need changing if i were to do a 320 - 325 conversion and roughly cost..

Mate im no expert but i think its pretty much a straight swap.
Probably have to change the gearbox too,to keep the gearing right,maybe the diff also.
Disc brakes for the rear too if you dont already have them.

To get the actual engine to work, you need to drop it in, plumb it it, and then you plug it in to the bulk head, everything the same so far! You then need to change the chip in the ecu, so it knows it's a 2.5 rather than a 2.0 - get a zone chip for this if I was you. then obviously if you want to you may want to change the diff as 320's can have quite high geared diffs for economy, which of corse ruins acceleration, and I would advise (particularly if you are fiddling around the back doing diffs) changing the rear semi trailing arms with 325 ones with the disc brakes. If you do do this work change the subframe mounts and arm bushes also. And change the engine and gearbox mounts, and the timing belt whilst you have the engine out of the car, and if you are unsure as to it's condition the clutch!
There are lots of other parts you could renew whilst your at it, but that's another thread.
