Hello 8)

Need some info from you guys, beacuse I know U will help

I have a cheap deal on a 730iA V8 E32,was planing a swap into my E30 driftcar, and need to know has it been done before, and also what flywheel will mate with the engine, and the gearbox aswell.

Also if anyone knows the issues about this transplant, from the engine mounts,to the electrical wiring, down to the oil pan and oil feed line....what needs to be done to make this thing go inside the E30 shell.

Thanks!

check this thread out

i dont think i'd go for the 3.0 V8 though, it's not powerful enough
to warrant the effort needed for the swap. also some M60's suffered the nicasil problems, so you'd have to make sure the engine is a good 'un first.

Read the whole thread 8O 8O respect to you Glenn for making the V8 monster of the E30

The E32 that I want to buy is a goverment escort car,so its nicely serviced and not been abused alot, and its cheap to so I will be givin it a thouth, beacuse I dont need more power (sounds strange I know :D ) than that for decent drifts.....U need some driving skill for that, and I drifted thruout the whole last season with the M20B25 engine and came up with some good reasults in the end.

So the 200Bhp+ 3,0 V8 will be enough for some time to come...

The only problem I see for me is the gearbox. Was told that the auto tranny could be replaced with a M30 gearbox, but with custom bell housing made from 2 bells of M30 gearbox... Know what I mean?

also need to know the wiring issues,I m sure there will be some, since the E32 is packed full of stuff I dont really need...like the BC and cruise control....

Glenn I we answerd to your reply in this topic with faith in you to do the same for me when U have the time...

Cheers from Slovenia from Eddy

I'd give it a miss and get the 4.0/4.4. Or even a 3.5 M30.

My old man had a 530i Touring with the 3.0 litre V8 (218bhp?). Anyway, it sound nice and had awesome handling (all E34s are sweet but this was Schnitzer enhanced). However, you had to rev it like a 2.0 M52 to get any meaningful performance. That and it never bettered about 17-19mpg in normal use. I think he got 25mpg once but I think that was mostly downhill. Anyway, guess you're not so bothered about thirst.

For a V8 to be worthwhile, it needs torque. It needs enough torque to pull from walking speed to v-max in one effortless lunge because only then do you get to hear the full spectrum of glorious noises it can make :)

Anything less than 4 litres and 270lbft just ain't worth the fuel.

Nice car btw :thumb:

cheers mate

Thanks for posting...

Will have to think it over again...the original plan was to put a M50 B25 inside, and also equip it with S50 ITBs and LMM and do a full remap of the DME,then make some equal lenght headers and a full exaust....that whould do for some 220bhp or even more...depends on who is mapping the DME...

dont know now....on one hand a V8 will sound awsome on the rev limiter with the car on full opposite lock, but then again the ITB whould sound just as good...
