Hi Guys need your help and advice, IÔš'm currently trying to figure out the final position that my M30 lump should be mounted, so can anyone answer the following:

1. What sort of clearance from the bottom pulley to the radiator are people running ?
2. What extent if any does the bulkhead need modded for p3, any pics guys ?
3. Clearance at steering shaft to exhaust manifold flange seems tight will M5 rubber mounts cure this, or just break out the grinder ?
4. Will the lack of clearance at inlet man and brake servo cause problems.

looks tight.
Cheers, Evodan.

I'm using e30.de copies so don't no how accurate they are as engine super tight against bulkhead in p3 just doesn't seem right but then again I haven't seen another for comparison.

Where about are you ? Just wondering if a 335er is near you so you could have a look ?

Two of the latest 335s have used an inbetween postion, kind of 2.5.

I'm on P3 with E30.de mounts and i have a very slight clearance issue with the exhaust manifold/steering colum, you will need to grind it down a bit, i also ground the inlet manifold seam as well.

Click my WWW button for some pictures.

Live in central Scotland mate.
I was thinking that a 2.5 position would be best, this would involve removing the mounts and redrilling and welding up the old holes but thats cool. But would like to know what sort of bottom pulley to rad clearance people are running as this would help me in finding best position.
In p2.5 I reckon I should have about 10mm clearance is this enough.
Do you have any probs with p3

i'm just ahead of you mate, i've got e30.de mounts and have drilled a third hole. for P2.5. this gives me a bout 3mm clearance between the back of the head and the sound deadening. the top bellhousing bolt touches the sound deadening but it's about 8mm thick so should be fine. no bashing so far but i've not fitted the downpipes...!

the front would not let me fit the rad as i have a aircon front pulley but this comes off with the 8 13mm bolts and an hour later i'd ground the frony (aircon) vroove off so it now fits fine, i'd guess at 10mm clearance.

if you've not sorted a fan yet, look for a meaty (1.9) citroen BX in the breakers. i've got a BX 16V twin fan in there as of yesterday and with a little trimmin of the housing it fits perfectly! i'll get some pics up tonight.

there's a lot on here that's worth a read (it didn't end up quick, cheap or easy but it'll be worthwhile!): http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... ic&t=22989

16" 'pinas are 16" alpina replicas. the 17" ones are mady by BK racing and are know for being bad quality. the 16" ones are a lot better. made by AP or someone i think?

right, piccies time!

the BX fan showing the bits i removed:

the fan is totally within the front apron and has to be fitted from underneath. there's about 8mm clearance from the front pulley (aircon part removed!) to the rad but the HT leads to rad is only about 2 - 3mm!!! that's with the plastic shroud removed too! the engine is about as far back as it can go without bashing too!

Thats tight at the dizzy, but what can u do the M30 is a tight fit.
I welded and redrilled my brackets last night and fitted them today at aprox p2.5.
I've got about 10-12 mm at the pulley and just touching the sound isolation at the bulkhead.
Why don't the mounts come with p3 and p2.5 in the first place as as far a I can tell p2 is useless?
