I have just fitted an m44 from a 318ti compact into the e30. while i was in there i also fitted set of throttle bodies from an e36 m3 and a 4 into 1 exhaust (wasn't easy with the steering column) It is now running but not very well. i think i need to see how i an get rid of the bmw fuel pressure regulator and fit an adjustable one to see if that helps. the m44 injectors don't fit in the m3 manifold and i am not sure what the flow rate is of the injectors that are fitted

There are flow rate tables on the net that you can reference the Bosch part numbers to, you may find the S50 injectors are not far from the M44

thanks for that i had no idea there were so many different types of injectors, i have fitted an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with the idea that i can reduce or increase the amount of fuel they flow but straight after fitting it the fuel pump died so i have ordered a pressure gauge and the correct fittings for the fpr. I have replaced the fuel pump but want to fit the gauge before trying it again. The engine has not been started for 3 years and i was a bit keen on getting it running so was starting it in the garage so couldn't let it run for long before the exhaust was too much. i need to get it outside and warmed up and see how it runs .

I know this was a while ago now but I feel it is important to point out that pressure and flow rates are different things.

it turned out to have a bad cam sensor so when i replaced that it ran really well, it would pull off the line on tick over and ran sweet. i need to try an air fuel ratio gauge to check all is well but i am really happy with how it drives
