Good afternoon Guys,

I have a question this came about after talking with my dad last night. As per title would the older 'AJ6' (4.0 straight 6) engine fit in to an E30? I know you can get manual gearboxes for them so that isn't a problem and neither would an ecu. Its more of is the engine to long or to tall to fit in the engine bay? I know we would have to make our own engine mounts but on a hole would it go in?

I want to be different instead of jumping on the same engine swap band wagon it's not solely about the power just dare to be different.

Thanks in advance :)

Any engine can be made to fit any car, theoretically; I've seen Jaguar XK and V12 engines fitted into Morris Minors, for instance, albeit with a lot of bulkhead cutting!

I would imagine it could be fitted, though couldn't find any dimensions, so you'd want to look carefully into that aspect first.

Another thing to bear in mind is the weight; apparently, an AJ6 engine weighs in the region of 530lb, as much as a BMW 5-litre V12! 8O
