Can you get the check control to work after swapping in an M50 engine?

What needs to be done?

Only engine related check control function is the oil level.
Pin 2 (blue/yellow) of the M50 loom goes to pin10 (blue) of the E30 socket, and similarly, pin 1 (blue/white) of M50 goes to pin 2 (green/yellow) of the E30.

Only by changing the complete main body and engine wiring looms, or some extensive mods and additions to the existing ones.

I guess not then, its just that my convertible has no check control panel! Which is annoying because when I had my first E30(so many years ago) I thought what a great idea! Now I aint got one! I thought the wires would be there?
