I have checked the Wiki and doen searches and been unable to find anything, but I am sure the information is there...
Has someone listed the dimensions of the various engine that are available. I am currently doing research for fitting a BMW engine into my 4x4 and hence need this information. (Sadly I haven't got a junk yard full of BMW engines outside from which I can take measurements and as such want to narrow down the choice before starting to find/buy engines)
I am considering the following engines: M42, M50/52, M51, M57, (maybe M47)
Ideally the following info would be useful.
Height Overall
Width of Short Block (without inlet/exhaust manifold)
Width of complete Engine (Short Block + inlet + exhaust)
Length of Short Block (front of Block to gearbox flange)
Length complete Engine (front of Block + pulleys etc to gearbox flange)
Pictures of various engines outside of car?
