if you are looking to buy one look for poor cold starting,noisy tappets (these cost a fortune to sort out as are shimmed),noisy diff
try to get one with a good service history
this engine shares the same block as m30 and most of the running gear is standard 6 series so running costs should not be astronomical have one in workshop at moment in a poor state but there are still some nice ones about but getting scarce
