Hi guys looking for some help with this one, I'm taking all the goodies out ma 89 535 as I need the space so am no where near the testing stage yet but I intend to put the m30 lump in ma 93 m40 touring. So some questions ?

1. Does the round engine harness m30 plug just require to be mated to the m40 round plug.

2. Is this white multi plug required in the e30, what is it for.

3. These 3 wires go to the 5 series alarm do I just need to cut them.

Cheers Guys.

the round plug should plug straight in without rearranging the pinout, mine did. i can let you know the pinouts for my car and engine as and when you need them (90 535i/89 316i)

don't need that white plug

the alarm wires - is it an alarm or an immobiliser as well? can't see exactly where they're coming from. anyway that's the fuel pump relay (i think) and it looks like you can just cut them. if in doubt take as much of the wiring as possible along with the alarm, and work it out later...

Hi Toby, the 3 alarm wires go to a multi plug in the siren and they just seem to be tapping in to the thicker green wire going to the relay so I think they can be cut too, so there getting it.

what diff you using?

99% sure that wire (green with purple stripe?) is the feed to the fuel pump. if they just tap into it then they can be cut.

have a 3.64 LSD at the moment, which gives 150 indicated at the rev limiter in top, Andy335touring has the same ratio and it's about right. will need a longer diff soon though as i'm about to turbocharge it
