i recently had my mint subaru impreza sti written off by a drunk driver not seeing me in front of him (how he missed a Focus RS green car in front of him i dont know) but now im left with a written off impreza with a freshly rebuilt engine in it. i have also come into a 1990 E30 touring just like my old one that i miss dearly. i have had a bright idea to fit the E30 body ontop of the impreza running gear as there is only a 50mm difference in wheelbase also similar width dimensions etc. was just wondering if any of you guys have had/heard of similar conversions and if there are any off the cuff heads ups that i should prepare for? any input would be much appreciated!

Sounds very dirty.
Those mugs Bernie and Leepu pulled it off on a mk 2 Golf for Johnny Vegas. Looked half decent till Leepu touched it:

I personally wouldn't bother. If you are hell bent on a 4wd e30, look into modding an iX. Seen a couple s50 conversions. Looks a lot of hassle but no where near as hard as a cut and shut of 2 different cars.
Also I would imagine the chassis legs on an e30 are too narrow for the boxer lump.

Everything is possible with the right amount of skills and money.
Not sure as the engine would be my choice as I don't really rate them. But each to there own and will be different when done.
