When you say exhaust side, it exits from both sides
You must be made of money if you can afford a sextet of webers too!
I'd go for throttle bodies, better by miles in almost every respect, especially if you factor in the inevitably huge cost of setting up 6 carbs properly!

i would like throttle bodies but need to see if it fits first as if it does get turboed than the carbs will be no good anyway

Its been done on the continent, think one of the problems i heard of was having no access to the spark plugs when the engine is in. Have a search on e30.de bound to be some info on there!
Good look.

What you doing to the E21? The mods didn't seem to mind when i posted up pics of mine in the pub talk section.
I'm hoping to be putting an M30 into mine but it's starting to look a lot more expensive than i first thought it would

I think it would be relatively easy, well easier than squeezing it all in the engine bay. I don't have a great deal of knowledge about these things, despite a degree in mechanical engineering. You could have it close to the front seats for weight distribution, the short output straight to the diff with the gearbox on the front, job done.dips346 wrote:i'am not only the mad one out here then lolJoeP wrote:How about mid mounting it? i think if you measured it up, with the gearbox directly mounted to the diff,
the middle of engine would end up right where the gear stick should be
why not put it in the engine bay, it will fit, it's been done before and i would of thought it'd be easier

like glenn i think the engine bay would be a lot lot easierJoeP wrote: I think it would be relatively easy, well easier than squeezing it all in the engine bay. I don't have a great deal of knowledge about these things, despite a degree in mechanical engineering.
people do mid mount engines, but it's generally putting a fwd drivetrain/suspension in the back of a fwd car.
i'm sure mid mounting the v12 would be possible, maybe with a custom transaxle, but putting it in the engine bay would be a walk in the park by comparison.
and in my experience mech eng degrees don't help much with engine swaps!
