can't see the point. It's an engine. It will get dirty. I may polish the car's paintwork but not the engine. Close bonnet, job done.
I have cars for driving, not for open-the-bonnet-pub-carpark thing.
I do however appreciate a good engineered and executed install like the above. shame it's all polished. The time that has taken would have completed the install.
But each to their own.

Polishing your engine is very :gay: Even if it is an S38 :)

I like a nice clean engine bay but as Uwe said once you drive it a bit its soon back to filth and dust :D

Saying that though, I do intend to try and clean the wax off my chromie engine bay one day, possibly with the help of a buffty type :D

I couldn't be arsed either and would be happy enough with just getting the thing back together and into the car but I do admit it looks very nice all the same.

The attention to detail through the rest of the car is pretty good too :)

I reckon this sort of thing would have been what happened if Cliffybabe joined the CR24 club :p

Once it is to that standard, its easy to keep it like that!

Nothing worse than a shitty engine bay imo.

Don't look under the bonnet of mine then. I agree with Uwe, it's too clean for me. Also I only open the bonnet when something needs attention or for servicing.

do it once do it right. if it starts of like that then its esay to spot any problems and makes life so much esayer to work on. nothing worse than having to work on a dirty correded engine.

+1 100%

I had a messy engine bay... Mine nothing special but slowly working on it... Once you get the majority of it cleaned up, its easy to keep clean, even if its just a quick wipe down it shines it all back up. :)

I painted up my rocker cover, inlet manifold and fitted nice new exhaust heat shield gaskets and general clean before I put it back together today.... And it's only a bloody M40b18 at the moment

I must be starting to get the engine bay homoness disease bad when trying to get one of those lumps to loopking good.

Will be committed info a home when I prep the bay for the M52 if I keep it up!

I didn't say have a shitty, dirty engine. but I wouldn't spend my time on over polishing parts. If you need to paint, coat or clean anthing anyway, sure do it right. But I wouldn't change existing finishes just because it doesn't match the colour scheme of the car.

I am form follows function. Which sometimes creates some nice looking stuff as well.
