Need to save this lol.. Just so I'm not asking further on down the line! Looks fairly simples TBH. Is the M50 and M52 the same? :)

The above is from the notes I made during my very first M50 conversion, several years ago, and refers to one particular E30 shell, and one particular E34 M50B25Tu engine.
There might be some variations in the colours of a few of the wires on one side or the other, but the pin numbers will be correct. M52 will still be the same, with the provisos above.

hey thank you very much. i was in a deep shit be4 you helpped me. i live in oklahoma, USA, and no one in here have done this kind of swap. i saw the swap on of the e30 on ebay and bought a raked car and took the engine and the tranny from it after my head cracked in my 1988 325i. i have a friend wants to the same thing but he wants to use an automatic transmission, and i dont know if that possible.
thank you again and good luck with your project

We do not 'do' autoboxes in the UK,they are regarded as a'girls' answer to proper driving...
I feel your mate will struggle to get the stock E36 autobox into the tunnel of an E30 without the use of a large hammer....and I doubt that a E30 6 pot type autobox will bolt up to an M50 due to the differing engine angles...
