Hi im doing a s50b30 swap with the 5 speed box into my 325i sport and need some help finding the right LSD.
i wood like 3.15 ,3.25 , 3.64 but dont now how much to pay or where to fined one.
what bmw's have the right diff's?
i still have the 3.91 out of the sport! can it be changed?
thanks for any help.
PS i live in shetland scotland, freight is very expensive

can i ask if anyone knows of an lsd that'll drop into my soon to be M50B28'd E36 320i... sorry ti hi-jack but its similar question, thought same people may know answer...

3.15/3.25 are E30 M3, 3.64 were on early tech-1 sports and some 325i's

3.64 open diff should be around £50.
LSD's are in demand and fetch £250ish.
Another source of 3.15/3.25/3.09 diffs is E28,you will need to swap the output flanges and back plate for medium case E30 parts,though.

what about LSD's out of some E36 compacts! will they work? are all the E28 LSD's the same?

I think the compact units work as well.

E28 has medium (typ 188) and big (typ210) LSD's.

Good ratio for the diff would be quite near 3, for example 3.15 which is found on E30 M3.

The compact diff will bolt straight in to the e30 sub frame.


Thanks, can you tell me what one will have the right ratio for the s50b30 conversion?

i got my 3.15 LSD diff from an E36 323ti.
