Hi guys,
I've got a e34 3.5 gearbox and a e34 2.5 gearbox. Obviously the 3.5 will fit as it came off the same car. Will the e34 2.5 box fit? I had a look at them side by side and the input shaft seems shorter and doesn't stick out past the bellhousing as much.
can i use either box?
cheers,
Jamie

Yeah, defo the 3.5 one.

And if it's going in an E30 I would cut off the top bellhousing bolt lug if you want to be able to change the clutch without taking the engine out!

Cheers guys,
Do you have a picture of what needs to be chopped off and how far back I'd need to cut it? What about stuff getting in and contamination the clutch once the top lug is cut off?
Is that top lug cut off to make room if its catching on something when trying to lower it out or so it not bolted up? What i was trying to say is would I get away with just not bolting up the top lug and not chopping the gearbox?
