right i hope this is in the right section.

been looking at the 3.1 stroker kit's from ireland engineering

http://store.nexternal.com/shared/Store ... =334891915

& i was just wondering how much it would cost to have an m20 rebuilt with this kit?

i've been in a fully rebuilt m20b27 & that seemed to have plenty of low end grunt so what would it be like with this kit?
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Same ballpark as a normal rebuild I expect. Though it could work out cheaper to source your own parts,

You need an S52 or M54 crank and custom pistons to get 3.1L, 3L is easier.

Rods will almost definatly also have to be shorter 130mm items, but this would depend on the custom pistons you go for.

The IE kit is just the M54 crank and custom pistons anyway. Theres no point paying massive import tax fees on a product thats already got a huuuge markup on it.

Frankly you could buy the parts new yourself for less. or source the crank second hand much less.

It needs to be custom pistons to get to 3L or 3.1L, The 3.1L needs and overbore and shorted pistons and the 3L needs shorter pistons too but the same diameter as the B25 slugs, however you might find custom rods shorter than 130mm but I wouldn't recommend it the 130mm rods are too short as they are IMO for top BHP applications. the 130mm rods from a M20B20 and custom pistons will work.

It won't be easy and will require measuring up properly. I'm only going to go as high as 2.9L personaly. and its taking me ages.
