i currently have a 46mm external wastegate that i was going to be useing on my car wich i know was good for the 450bhp mark i was going for....

since then ive gone all forged on the bottom end and its now spec'd for arrond 7-750bhp ... is 46mm now to small?

Yes.
Get a 60mm one.
