Hi all.. I've just bought an E36 318i 8v and want to put a 16v in there, is it as straight forward as the M20 B20 > M20 B25..

What parts do you need.. (bar the motor of course) :)

i want to do the same swap and i belive it is just engine (plus ancillaires),wiring loom and rad if u use the same gearbox?

is this for an e36? if so you can get e36 318is's now for utter pennies, far far less than e30s. Unless you got the car for free (and even then) I'd sell it and buy a e36 with a 1.8 16v in as it'll cost you far less.

What he said above, e36 328's are pretty cheap these days too if you want some serious power

The car was £100 :) so im not too fussed about spendint £200 on an engine, anyone know the answer to my question?

ok well, It'll be a fairly easy swap if its anything like an e30, depending on year it may have a EWS system which I'm not familiar with but I'm sure other people can shed light on that. I don't really see anything posing too much of a trouble tbh.
