Do i just send off the log book with new engine number and cc change?

I thought this was the case until i read this

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ow ... DG_4022054

Says i need to send a receipt or written evidence, inspection etc...

I remember a thread a few months ago about changes DVLA were making regarding engine swaps.

Thanks.

i just sent mine away, no problems.

i think if you are lowering the engine capacity then the dvla want some sort of proof,

to stop people cheating them out of road tax cash.

Ditto! But I have heard of people being asked for proof when increasing engine size, which makes little sense. Who would expect the DVLA to make sense though?

Just send it off & it'll probably come back amended with no hassle.

I just sent mine away, and they sent it back wanting more info. Seems like it's a bit of a gamble whether they just change the details or not. In the end, I sent BMW UK an email with the VIN, engine number and size of both my current and donor cars, they sent an email back confirming the specs and I sent the whole lot off to the DVLA, which they accepted.

Here's my thread about it: http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=112364

I just sent off a headed letter from my local MOT centre, they just regurgitated what I told them onto paper and signed it for a small fee.

I was hardly going to lie about increasing the capacity now was I?

I dont bother, its roadworthy, taxed and insured so what is the problem?

The more figures and info they are given the more they are likely to try and cash in on modifying
