Back when I had my 316i my goal all along was to fit a 325 engine, but I later found out that turning a 316 into a 325 is a little more involved than other models as you have to also change the brakes and suspension. This did not discourage me though but hitting an Audi Q7 in the side at 30mph kind of but a hold on the plan.

Anyways I now have a 318is and to be honest I’m quite happy with the current performance and the engine appears to work fine.

The engine has covered about 150k however and I can’t be arsed to rebuild it so I plan on driving it in to the ground and when it does die drop a nice 2.5 lump in my question is do I still need to up rate the suspension and brakes or can I just drop a 2.5 in an IS as I’m led to believe the IS already has the same standard of brakes and suspension as a 325 anyway.
