Im nearing completion of my m5o swap, but ive got the park brake, brake fluid and charging light flashing when its first started up. It doesnt charge while the lights are on but after 30 seconds they go out and its charges. It also hunts when its warmed up, cold start is good, runs at about 1200rpm then drops and starts hunting. I know induction leak is popular but ive spent half a day with brake cleaner and cant get it to change tone.
Anyone had these problems during your swap?
Cheers.

There is a rubber boot under the inlet manifold, make sure thats on properly as it can get disturbed and that causes hunting.
The charging problem sounds a little strange, have you got everything connected properly, and is the engine earthed?

It could be anything to be honest, did the engine run ok in the car it came out off? If so start with the basics..If you don't know it may be worth putting a fault code reader on it first and see if it throws any faults up.
I've got a m50'd 318i, been on the road a month now and done 600 miles, and so far so good, only let me down once when the fuel pump packed up.
Believe me it'll be worth it when you get it sorted, 24v E30

sorted it, found fuel pressure regulator pipe perished, and stil did not cure it, replaced idle control valve job done.
the lights are still on for around 30 seconds then they go out and it charges.
Mot on saturday looking forward to it bein back on the road!
