Hi, as the title suggests I'm trying to drop my e34 525 into the touring. I got some e36 320i alloy mounts and the nearside unfortunatly does not fit the bolt pattern on the e34 block. Could someone please help me with specifically which e36 mounts I should use? Much appreciated. I fiddled around for ages radging them off a scrapper!

as far as i was aware you use e36 engine arms with e34 m50 rubber mounts.

yeah that's the impression I got too. The nearside bolt holes don't line up at all

Oh dear I can't believe how stupid I am. There are two different places to mount the mounts. What a dick!

I knew that was coming!

Just run a tap down the threaded holes first with plenty of oil, sometimes the holes get so rusted the thread is unusable

Best rubber mounts to use are part No 11 81 1 132 793 8)

There's not much hope this is gonna run is there if it takes that long for me to work the basics out! :o:
Also, Im assuming with the wiring it is a case of chopping the big 26 pin plug off the loom from the e34 and swapping it with the plug from my e30? Following brian moores very helpful wiring conversion chart for the colour coding differences? Thanks

Thanks for the advice with the rubber mounts and you were dead right about the threads!
