I found a 95 740i in a breakers yard yesterday , and they are only looking for 500 euro for engine loom and ecu , the only snag is it was way up on a rack so i couldnt get the vin number and the other is its got an auto box , also they have lost the keys .
Do 95 740i have ews2 , am i right in thinking it could be either m60 or m62 .
also what manual box and flywheel will fit .

I suppose it's out of E38? It could be either M60 or M62, both were made at that time i think. Not sure, though. Anyways, it's easy to tell which one it is from the big engine cover.

All M60, M62 and S62 flywheels & gearboxes are straight plug'n'play physically. Clutches are different (240mm in all except M60B40 which has 265mm clutch).

If it's M62 then you need M62 flywheel (it has crank speed sensors on flywheel, different on M62 and S62) but if it's M60 then they all fit straight on (speed sensor on the front of the engine).
