I have an M20b20 engine and want to swap it for a 2.5 M50 engine. I am no expert in this field so i was wondering what modifications i will have to do. Will i have to change the box n prop shaft. Wat manifold would i have to get and some1 sed sumthin about a servo change aswell. Could someone spell ti out for me please???

All the information is in the link that Dan has pointed you toward,however,30 odd pages does take some wading through. On my build (have a hunt through the photo gallery for 'daimlerman's folly') I have used, standard prop,M40 gearbox with 320 gearlever mounting bracket,325 clutch on an M20 flywheel with matching M20 starter,M50 engine.I used a brake servo from a 2000 clio,E34 throttle cable,E34 engine mounts on E36 brackets,E36 engine loom modified to suit the E30 car loom.I tried and failed to make an exhaust manifold/downpipe from a pair of M52 manifolds and a 325 frontpipe and instead spent a years pocket money with Fritzbits for their custom built s/s manifold/downpipe.Do be sat down when you phone for a quote... That's the basics...

How much were you for manifolds? I'm guessing 6-700ish?
E34 x 1 - V8 + lots of CF
E30 x 2 - Tourings (1 x M50, 1 x M40)
RS6 C5 - Stage 1 remap - 500bhp

Frizbits say £750,then add on delivery and VaT,on my doorstep a wisker under £900.... but I was at the point where it was spend the cash or transport the car to someone else to fabricate a manifold for me,as at this point the car was nowhere near road legal I opted for spend the cash.I suspect that the cost of transporting the car back and forward and the cost of fabricating a manifold would not be significantly less than Fritz. And it does both look good and sound good! In addition to this,at this point in my build I received a large income tax refund as well... winkeye so far the only thing that I have had to do to pacify the wife is promise her a holiday abroad in the sun,so a good deal all round.
