quick question...A friend has a E36 M3 engine for sale with all the running gear, was just wondering if the engine slots into the E30 with no major modifications??

theres one for sale on pistion heads, he said it cost ten grand to fit though, so it must of been a pain in the ass to fit

It is not. Basicly it's an m50 engine 
since both m50 and s50 are found in the same car 3 series e36 there are no major difficulties
