I thought I'd found the holy grail of performance enhancement, but it looks like a damp squib.
A new 'Electric Supercharger' by CPT is being developed for the OEM market, and nefore I did some investigation, looked like a real alternative to all the nasty plumbing and packaging issues common to turbo and blower installations.
Turns out it's only a part-timer......allowing boost for only the first 10 combustion cycles of the motor.
This begs the question though, if you were overtaking and the friggin' thing cuts out halfway through the act....then what?

article here....http://www.newspress.co.uk/DAILY_LINKS/ ... 101cpt.htm

So even with two of these strapped on to account for the larger engine sizes we are talking about, it's still only a quick kick up the ass followed by a hugely dissapointing loss of power.

Unless you were nuts and connected 6 of them to operate sequentially on a six pot motor? :D

The impression i got from that was that the electric supercharger is only ment to be a swift kick up the arse untill the turbo comes on boost.

With the recent advances in bushless electric motors im not suprised that someone has come up with an electric supercharger that actually works :)
