I am sure alot of this has already been covered, however since e30zone is so large I havent found what im looking for yet.
apart from the forced induction route are there any other bolt on mods inc new heads from later bmws that would be a direct replacement to give the m20 a new lift.
Any other upgrades much welcome or links for that matter.
Will have a photo of my 325i next week when my friend has sorted out the crusty rear arches and taken out a few dents!
thanks in advance guys
325i easy and cheap upgrades esp engine stuff

you seem to know your engines is there a head from a twin cam moor that would fit an m20?
remap is on the cards just deciding where my hard earned would be the best put to use!

Best £200 I spent was on a hottuning exhaust manifold.

There is only one 6 brach manifold that delivers the goods that you can still buy new, the btb2.

A bloody good service is the no 1 "tuning" item you should be doing.
2 types of M20, high and low CR, find out which you have by cleaning up the engine number 6K is low CR, 6E high.
A 6 BTB branch would be Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down my list of priorities TBH , invest time getting it all 100% 1st, then spend some ££ on the go faster bits, just FFSK dont bin the stock airbox for some cone filter rubbish please !

Couldn't agree more! Its crazy how many people overlook the health of their engine and go straight for the bolt ons!Ant wrote:A bloody good service is the no 1 "tuning" item you should be doing.

she is booked in for cam belt, tensioner, plugs, oil (engine gear box and diff) along with new air filter, coolant change and looking about some silicon hoses for replacing the 19yr old ones. Its even getting under sealed once the arches are being done.
dont want my beauty going down for something I could have sorted before it happened.
Think I may be going down the handling route next starting with some sticky fronts tires.
