Am thinking of asking people to get me parts for an ecu setup for the 30 as a beginning platform for other mods for christmas.

as this article said - a jetronic engine needs other modifications , what are these ?

Also on the website you can have an daughterboard processor upgrade what does this allow you do to?

also how much does the wasted spark set-up cost! and do you recommend it ?

have many other questions but this would be a helpful start cheers all :D :D :D

2 ways to go

use an MS as fuel only and run you dizzy setup as per jetronic.

or swop in a motronic loom from a post sept 87 car, then you can have fully 3D mapped ignition and distch the dizzy as the trigger for the injectors.

you'll need the loom, trigger wheel, pickup and ideally use the later intake from the B25 too, whatever the case you need the fuel reg and High impedance injectors to ensure its all good

Re the wasted spark, its waaaaaaaaaay smoother than the dizzy setup and has the advantage of nothing to wear out, no mechanic losses, nothing for moisture to creep into etc etc. It will also lower the emissions a little once fully tuned and the wasted spark also has the added benifit of reducing combustion chamber temps on the "wasted" side of the spark as its dry fired.

with regard to the MS, to use as-is its jumper for an opto in conditioner circuit, to go crank sensor decoder all thats required is a move of the jumper provided the main ECU was built wioth ALL available options form the outset

Use a V3.0 or a V3.57 PCB, the older V2.2 is not worth seeking out now TBH.

Original performance chips, original works not unlicensed copies :D Email FTW

cheers ant was hoping you would answer !

sounds like more work than anticipated - i was planning on putting it on my daily driver and by the sounds of it it would be of the road for a fair bit!

so from what you say the wasted spark is definitely worth the extra ,and i think the fuelling is also a must as i would very much like to tune the engine up with other mods !

you lost me here ?????

thanks very much
