hi all
i am currently putting a s50 m3 3.0l into a m3 shell , done most off the work just sorting out the master cylinder servo and wiring , any ideas where i can get a mk2 1.3 servo and which audi master cylinder is the best to use ? also i was luckiy enough to buy the engine with the wiring sorted to plug straight into my loom , but the guy i bought it from said that there is a wire that controls the vanos and it has to be connectec to the speedo , any ideas where i can connect it to ? can it be connected to speed sensor wires from the diff , any help would be appreciated , i will do a full write up with pictures and details on the whole project soon

just an update, managed to get a servo from a 1983 mk 1 polo 1.3 fits fine and misses the plenum chamber just about ! , i do have a small section cut out of plenum chamber though , i will write a seperate post about some ideas i picked up concerning how to get around the dreaded master cylinder problem

My cousins 89 1.0l polo definatly didn't have servo assisted brakes as the first time I drove it, I nearly didn't stop! That was about 4 years ago.

My first car was a black Polo coupe S on a C plate, it lasted about 6 months due to a combination of poor brakes and oncoming traffic

Plastic wing ( mk2 on) clio servo is THE weapon of choice, all the VW ones give a dead pedal and are useless.
fair play on it clearing the plenum, but I almost guarantee that it will hit under load( ie driving) so you will need to nibble a small 10mm x 10mm section away to provide a soloution
re the VSS input, its not available to the C101 on the E30 so to add that provision from the car use the ABS ECU output or take the signal from the diff sensor @ the cluster and run a wire to the X20 on the S50 loom
On the last S50 into Tech 1 I did the Vanos worked 100% ( live data ) without the VSS input as its load and rpm driven.

When I was doing my M52 the ECU that came with it kept giving the VSS fault code, I would clear it off and anything over 60mph would bring the code back and the ECU would go into limp.
I swapped it for another ECU/EWS/chip etc and even though the fault code was showing the ECU ran the engine happily at any speed/load etc
I never wired the VSS BTW, just goes to show that some ECU's need it and others dont

So, do those Clio's use the same servo? And do I have to modify anything to make one fit?Ant wrote:Plastic wing ( mk2 on) clio servo is THE weapon of choice, all the VW ones give a dead pedal and are useless.

It's a bit age dependant. My 91 Sport certainly had it on pin 14 of the C101 (black/white wire). As standard it it feeds pin 29 of the ECU. I think all post facelift cars will have it.
