Hi Lads, just picked up my E32 735i doner car only 95k with fsh for £200, not bad i thought.
Just wondering which gearbox/flywheel to use, i am putting the engine into a 325i touring with a lsd from the factory (not sure on the ratio).
Will a e28 dogleg be to low geared?! If so can i use any E34 6cyl box (520i,525i,535i???). And will the e34 spline's mate up to a E28 flywheel and clutch?!
Cheers James

Hi and welcome!
The gearbox most people use is an E34 / E32 730i / 735i.
The dual mass flywheel can be used but an E28 535i / M535i single mass is about 5kg lighter and will also fit, with shorter bolts.
The clutches are not interchangeable so buy the clutch when you know which flywheel you are going to use!
Don't forget to put a spigot bearing in the crankshaft.
A dogleg gearbox will be ok but they aren't as strong as the others, from what I've read.
Some people have used gearbox and flywheel from a BMW M10 engined car, but i don't know too much about that.
