1st time install of megasquirt, cant burn to ecu,...y?

Hi. Im having trouble with the megasquirt setup. (bought it from DIYEFI, built inside a scock e30 ecu wit the stock map on it)

In megatune (original firmware option) all of the gauges read fine when turning, rev, pulse, coolant temp etc. When I try to chane a few settings and burn to ECU im met with an error message, cannot communicate with controler. Iv tried to run it through the "car1" option but this does not work at all. No responce even through the working port 1 that I use with the (original firmware option).

The stock map was installed onto the ecu so im affraid of wiping it. How can I get to a point where i can edit some of the stock map values?

Open the map in MT, make changes, ALT B to burn map to the flash.

How are you connected to MS? USB adapter or RS232?

Wev just changed to another pc and it works fine now. Dodgey ports on the other one it seems. Im using the serial cable. Thanks!
