Hi, new to the forum.

I saw a feature in a mag a few years ago in which a e30 325 was converted to a 335 [220bhp]. It was only a 2 page article which made it seem simpleand cheap to do, think it was CCC mag.

Is there a step by step thread or e-site you can point me to so i can do the build with step by step instructions.

Does it matter which e30 i start with 316/318/320/325, do either have bigger engine bays or a heavier/bigger chassis once engine+trans are removed?

I will look for a 2 door manual.

Does anyone do an off the shelf turbo manifold for the big-6 3.5L.

I plan to fit a holset hx30/35 and megasquirt.

any thoughts on injectors i can use, and can i fit 7 or 8 series brakes on the e30 ?

any other hints+tips? :)

------
I am looking for a budget blaster track car + which will pass an MOT for my daily banger. which has cheap replacement parts from the scrapyard and plentyful suply.

www.e30.de click on 335 (right hand menu) and then select 'english version' very good read. Also have a read through all the M30 build threads in this section. Loads of info :D

Any E30 is good for the conversion but anything less than a 325 will need the 325 suspension setup (51mm front struts and rear disc brakes)

I have a funny feeling though it could be cheaper to insure a modified 335 using a 316 inc 325 sus as it's a lower insurance group to start with.

If you're having trouble finding a good 325/iS shell, consider buying a touring, as these had 51mm struts and rear disks from the factory no matter what engine they had.
Not in E30s any more :(

and HX35 is a little small for a B35,
I would´t consider anything smaller then a HX40,

A B35 will spool just about anything at the same time, so why not go for something that gives more power and less boost needed.

And has better efficiency at the same boost therefore requiring lees intercooling... Bigger safety margins etc.

A well specced bigger turbo is always a better bet than a smaller one, Although it might seem counterintuitive.

LOTS of torque form one of those bad boys...

No offence to Toby, but that was not a efficient turbo setup.
check out www.mye28.com forced induction section, plenty of M30 boosted goodness.
