Converting from a 2.3 to a 2.5

The head gasket on my e30 2.3 has jus gone and i was thinking about just putting another engine in as the 2.3 felt under powered. The car was originally a 316 that had been converted to a 2.3 before i brought it. It has all the 2.5 rear beam and i believe the loom,ecu and injectors are 2.5 items already. I have done engine swops before but im new to e30's. Would i be right in thinking its a simple swop as most of the 2.5 stuff is already thier. Any help,tips or advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance
