this weekend i'm going to start converting this '86 320i to a 318is with the parts from my written-off car.

i have kept the entire loom from the 318is as well as the fuel tank, running gear and several engine bay brackets.

i have a few queries about the swap and wondered if anyone could help?

1. firstly will i need to swap the entire loom or will the M42 loom plug into the existing fuse box?

2. the fuel pump on the 320i is different to the one from the M42 so i intend to swap the tank, will i run into any wiring issues with the connections for the fuel pumps?

3. do i need to swap the instrument cluster?

i'm sure i'll need to ask more questions at some point so any help will be greatly appreciated.

can anyone tell me where the engine loom unplugs from? is it the large white connector behind the glovebox?
