Hi guys, need some help here regarding a build im starting.

First of all i have a M20B20. my car is a daily driver, and i dont drag race. so i dont need uber size HPs. Its a 320i 1984.

I want a nice smooth ride, little lag. once in a while i will be doing some trackdays, but its mostly for the highway.

I have a M20B23 crank, will be getting forged pistons (cheaper than the originals actually). I was planning on lowering the CR to 9:1. Already ordered my MS-II v3.0 kit, i will be doing fuel+ignition.

I'm aiming for 250-300hp.

Now the question, i was planning on getting a garret turbine, so what model would suit better this kind of application? i dont know how to read the graphs so i cant really tell whats the best one for me.

Also, what cam would you recommend for this application?

If you are asking why im not going for a 2.5, 2.7 or 2.8 build, simply due to costs and lack of parts availability.

every tip and recommendation is really appreciated. thanks in advance.

You thought about supercharging?

And either way it's not going to be cheap.

GC, i considered supercharging, but geting a supercharger here will be quite more expensive than a nice turbine. plus i do have oficial support from local dealer for garrett. so thats a plus in case it needs manteinance.

i know it wont be cheap as chips, but getting a 84mm bore block, or milling my 80mm block will be more expensive. so im staying with the 80mm bore. and i have the B23 crank already, so that should be fine anyway.

if AC Schnitzer was able to get 200hp from the E21 323i with the 200 head, Kjet injection, stock internals and 5.5psi boost. i should be able to get a little better with my combo :)

isTURBO, i would really love to have Ant working on my car, but he is not really close to my neighbourhood

any idea anyone? at least someone who can read the graphs?

from what i can tell, this looks like a nice turbine for what i have in mind. can anyone tell if thats correct?

Also, regarding the cam, ive read that the eta camshaft seems to be quite good for turbo applications due to high lift and little overlapping. any suggestions on this matter? i have a 731 head if that helps somehow.

if you are going to use V3 why not go for wasted spark as well it can be done.
If you take the turbo route 200 bhp is not very good at 5.5 bar more like 5.5psi
my suggestion is to ditch the kjet and go and get a engine wiring loom and trigger wheel from a post facelift car post 1989 and fit this loom as it will help ytou in the long run
Cannot comment on the graphs but seems to be quite good.
FYI: superchargers are alot easier and the kit has been developed already.
kit is very good use the email function on ther zone to contact ant about supercharging. as i believe this would be the best route to go
