Hi Guys
I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with their turbo cars. As soon as I press the accelerator flat down in second and third gears the car cuts out and begins to jerk

. Its a 2.7 turbo with MS. I will be calling Ant on Monday for a diagnosis but was wondering if anyone else can identify with this scenario.
Thamks in advance.

Erel. It cuts out sometimes causing it to switch off causing traffic jams. Its almost as if there's an overfueling causing it to stall. I found that if I drive it without boosting it moves fine.

Just been out in the car now and not boosting it at all. It jerks then cuts out hence causing tailbacks. Had to push it to the side. Kept trying to start it but it swings but doesn't take. I find that if I wait for a while it starts and idles for a couple of seconds and switches off again. In the past if I waited for about 45mins to an hour it would start again and move on.
Strange but annoying as well.

Right one of my mates came by. Usually when I press the switch before starting I hear the pump but now I didn't hear it. When we try to start it doesn't turn over but just swings. My mate then sprayed some highly flamible spray continuously in front of the air filter and it starts and idles perfect as long as the spray is there. Once its removed the car switches off.
Any ideas?

Dodgy pump or relay, time to whip the back seat out and check if its getting power.
If it is getting power give it a clout and it should spring into life.... but if that's the case its on borrowed time and you need to be finding a replacement.

Cheers stonsie.
I also thought that it could be the pump.
You don't think that the MS could be restricting the fuel flow?

Not as much as a siezed/siezing pump
If it was the management then i think it would still start and run ok untill you started to get boost, then it would lean out and cause some pinking/detonation, thats never good news with FI

Would like to hear the outcome of this. Similar problem on MS myself. Pretty sure that my one is spark related, causing MS resets. Either way, I'm sure Ant will get you sorted.

I had left the car in a parking bay on the road and I just went back as from experience I know it would start now and it did( thank God), however as i press the accelerator flat in second once again it jerks hard almost like a detonation of sorts. It also does seem to miss a beat at the lower revs too every now and then. BUT its parked at home so safe for now especially from the parking wardens
Yeah Hoshy If anyone can sort it out Ant can.

Rivaaj, had same problem on wifey's E30 mate, sounds defo like the fuel pump relay !! take it off and give the contacts/pins a really good clean with a wire brush.. located on the nearside of the car.. if i recall correctly the white one.. theres two together under the cap! let me know what happens!

Hi Erel
Sorry I've been busy lately so not much time to do anything regarding the car, however after chatting with Ant he said that it was the injectors as they are only good for up to 220bhp so I'm going to need a set of 42lb per hour ones. Then I need to book the car in with Ant for fitment and a remap on the MS.
I wil keep posting on this thread as I progress with the injectors.
PS: you wouldn't happen to have a set of injectors to suit that you wanted to get rid off?
Cheers
