is it feasible to keep the obd2ness of the m62 when swapping it into an e30? i love the factory drivability of stock dme but want to be able to have it work in the e30.
I have the ews system and key, came with the motor, but have no idea how to have the ecu disregard its dsc functions and only control the motor.
any tips/ideas would be much appreciated.

glenn got an s62 to work on the original loom and ecu, so it is possible. I also know that some m62 can be switched to normal analogues signals instead of using the bus with the bmw diag' tools (source e30.de)

can i use the dme from a 1995 530i (us spec v8) and have it tuned for the 4.4?

that's unfortunately beyond my limited field of expertise - I only have the wiring diagrams for my engine.
