head bolts question...please help

can anyone help please
i have a 1988 e30 convertible 320i m20 engine.... im doing the head gasget on it and i need to know how to fastern down the torx head bolts??????? i.e in what stages? my local bmw dealership wont
tell me " the bastards" and my autodata cd has a different stage pattern to what is shown on the box i got containg the head bolts???
please help someone....... thankyou brad

renew head bolts if torx,and follow this 1)30nm
2)90 degree
3)90 degree

just one more thing if you could help
my original head bolts are the standard hexagon shape kind but when i went and got a set of new ones both the parts shop and the bmw dealer ship told me i should have torx ones instead as they have super-seeded the hex shape ..... is this correct??
