Its come round again to that time of year when i get it into my head that i need to start a project.
I've got rid of (nearly) all the shitters, i know i'm going to start with a tourer.
I've sold my red 4 door with m50 engine last weekend, I've been down the 3.5 e28 and e34 conversion before so don't fancy revisiting.
So what's next... e36 M3
I was quite taken by the performance to effort of the m50 conversion. so was thinking maybe the 2.8? but heard theres more wiring like the m3 evo(EWS i think) either way theres more wiring, more to go wrong.
I still have M50 2.5 engine so i was thinking of using that as a base and probably turbo-ing it.
I have always steered away from turbos, mainly because i have never been able to own a turbo and sell it on working.
I'm looking at this kit on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/84-91-BM ... enameZWD2V
as the engine is out and ive only just started the search for a shell i thought i best to find out if i need to do any internal upgrading for the turbo.
I'm not looking for massive power but i want it to be reliable. I'm guessing that if i wanna run 10 - 15 psi i'm going to have to upgrade crank and compression ratio. i'm not going to use thicker head gasket, i'll get pistons machined.
Any help on this turbo conversion will be great help, as i said before i've always stered clear but can't see another path to go down.
e36 2.5 conversion - turbo questions.
