I shall keep my eye out. I have a 3.2 but am removing both the air pump and air-con so I assume I shall need a similar shorter belt to you.

I think most people on here are running the air-con with their S50's annoyingly! Try Johnno. He has a 3.0 litre and no aircon I believe.

My 3.0ltr had 2 belts, 1 for the water pump/alt/power steering and another for the aircon/air pump.

I dont remember having to get a shorter belt for anything, just a new standard belt from BMW (for the alt/power steering etc).
Removing the aircon and air pump just left me with a spare pulley on the front of the crank.

That's right, one belt does the A/C and the Emmissions pump. I kept the A/C and ended up getting the belt from a SA spec car that doesn't have emissions eqpt. So was shorter than the UK belt.

it should be a standard size but i haven't got a bm dealer close so went to the autofactors and he only had a listing for the belt he gave me which was the wrong one so will just have to get a shorter one of him or get one of bmw

Alan, be a bit clearer with what you want. Is it just to run the A/C compressor?

Why not deal with Zimmerbimmer1 in the genuine parts section. He'll post to Ireland and he's the main dealer man.

Alan, the genuine BMW part number for the belt you need is 1128 1404 018, hopefully your supplier can cross reference the number.

Hope that helps :D
