All turbo's have a tolerance on shaft play, only side to side tho, when they go they move in all directions!

sounds like you had too much fuel and wet plug not firing if you had to take fuel out have you got a wideband up its tail pipe ????? :D

yes I've got a wideband lambda sensor and gauge, looking at the plugs today no5 was the culprit, and the reason was some idiot left the bonnet off the catch during a rain storm, as I have no coil wiring on the rocker cover its easy for any rain to run right down the plughole. need to get some of the rubber bits that seal between the rocker cover & plastic trim.

yes its definitely only side to side, do you have any knowledge of the hx35 tolerances so I can check? I was looking at rebuild kits for holsets & there only about £60 so maybe I will do it just to be safe.

HX35 will not rebuild they are strong as fudge but as you say to be on the safe side

yes I've got a wideband lambda sensor and gauge, looking at the plugs today no5 was the culprit, and the reason was some idiot left the bonnet off the catch during a rain storm, as I have no coil wiring on the rocker cover its easy for any rain to run right down the plughole. need to get some of the rubber bits that seal between the rocker cover & plastic trim
Well you can get spark blow out when boosting if to much fuel is present

Well you can get spark blow out when boosting if to much fuel is present
the afr is about 12.5 to 1 when boosting, but its pretty hard to get the map bang on when the car is bouncing about all over the place. I need to get booked into a rolling road soon so it can be set up properly.

Preferably a load dyno Baptie! Tuning on an inertia type dyno is about as accurate as trying to tune while driving.

With a load dyno the operator can set the wheel-load to specific values while holding the RPM constant, providing the opportunity to set the fuel and ignition accurately at that particular load value. This cannot be done on an intertia dyno, so be sure to find yourself someone with a load type dyno, not an inertia dyno.

Hi Geoff, yes I have already learnt that inertia dyno s are a waste of time for mapping, I took the car to a guy when I first fitted the china turbo. and well to be honest it was a waste of time, effort & money :cry:, there is a place in fife called dastek and you can hire the dyno by the hour, plan is to take it there and optimise my ignition map and adjust the fuelling so its perfect. :D
